Welcome to Komot ("Komot," "we," "us," or "our"), a peer-to-peer platform that connects people in Nigeria and across Africa who are pursuing relocation to the United Kingdom or Canada through the study route ("you," "Users") with verified individuals who have already made that move ("Students"). By accessing or using Komot, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
Komot facilitates paid, one-on-one video calls between Users and Students so Students can share their own personal, first-hand experience of relocating to the UK or Canada for study.
Komot is not a law firm, immigration consultancy, or education agency. Students are not licensed immigration advisers, lawyers, or education counsellors, and nothing shared on a call is legal, immigration, or professional advice. Information shared by Students reflects their personal experience only and may not apply to your individual circumstances. You should not treat anything shared through Komot as a substitute for advice from a licensed immigration adviser (for example, an OISC-registered adviser in the UK or an ICCRC/CICC-licensed consultant in Canada) or qualified legal counsel.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Komot. By using the platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
We take reasonable steps to verify a Student's identity before their profile goes live, including confirming that they relocated through the route they describe. Verification does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currentness of anything a Student shares, and Komot does not review the content of individual calls.
When using Komot, you agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these Terms.
Students agree to share only their own genuine experience, to avoid presenting themselves as licensed to give legal or immigration advice, and to attend booked sessions at the scheduled time or give reasonable notice if they can't.
Komot does not guarantee any particular outcome, including visa approval, admission to any institution, or successful relocation. Immigration and study decisions are yours alone, made at your own discretion and risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Komot is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including decisions made based on information shared during a session. Our total liability for any claim relating to your use of Komot is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant session.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continuing to use Komot after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@komot.co.
